Description: Gray chert drill. The base has been worked and tip has broken off. The base was possibly constricted or stemmed and the drill is smooth where broken. Cultural Period: Archaic/Ancestral Puebloan Description: This drill was knapped into the end of a chert Elko Corner-notched/San Pedro projectile point. This point style has a vast age range, but is typically considered Middle to Late Archaic. However, the drill could have been fashioned on an older point, so dating this particular artifact without contextual information, such as site location and stratigraphic positioning, would be very difficult, if not impossible.
