Cultural Period: Ancestral Puebloan, Atsinna Pueblo (A.D. 1275 – mid-1300s) Description: Three shaft straighteners with wide, deep, rounded straight grooves. Two are recycled vesicular basalt mano fragments (back and front right). The other (front left) is smoothed and polished. Dimensions: L 4.5, W 4.4, T 3.5 (front left); L 5.8, W 5.8, T 3.0 CM (back); L 6.0, W 8.2, T 2.1 CM (front right). Provenience: LA 99 (Atsinna Pueblo), REFUSE MOUND, TEST 2. Cultural Period: Ancestral Puebloan, Atsinna Pueblo (A.D. 1275 – mid-1300s) Description: Large cylindrical artifact described in the artifact catalog as a “stone bar or bell” and a “digging tool/pestle?” with a ground, pecked surface and one flat side. The catalog indicated the material is gneiss, most likely from near Mt. Sedgwick to the north. Dimensions: L 48.9, W 8.9, T 5.6 CM. Provenience: LA 99 (Atsinna Pueblo), RM 1-S, E CACHE. Description: Stone pendant with two grooves, striations, and a perforation at one end. Although identified as a pendant, this artifact may also have served as an abrader for sharpening the points of awls. Dimensions: L 1 1/2, W 3/4, T 3/8 in.
