Tusayan Gray Ware, manufactured in the Kayenta cultural area of northeastern Arizona, was the most abundant of the imported ceramic wares found on site. The sherds shown here are all Tusayan Corrugated (A.D. 1050-1175), though several show a zoned pattern involving bands of pinched corrugations and unpinched bands. - Tusayan Corrugated Globular Jar

The area encompassed by Wupatki National Monument was an area of convergence for several Ancestral Puebloan cultural groups, including Kayenta, Sinagua, and Cohonina. Each group produced their own ceramics using a range of vessel forms as designs, as shown here. Cultural Period: Ancestral Puebloan Description: Grey corrugated pot with one handle connecting to a flared lip. Hand-constructed from three rolls of clay bonded together before firing. A crack in the pot may have been repaired professionally prior to the vessel being placed on exhibit. Dimensions: 7 1/4 inches high x 7 1/5 inches wide.
