Cultural Period: Ancestral Puebloan, Atsinna Pueblo (A.D. 1275 – mid-1300s)

Description: Large cylindrical artifact described in the artifact catalog as a “stone bar or bell” and a “digging tool/pestle?” with a ground, pecked surface and one flat side. The catalog indicated the material is gneiss, most likely from near Mt. Sedgwick to the north.

Dimensions: L 48.9, W 8.9, T 5.6 CM.

Provenience: LA 99 (Atsinna Pueblo), RM 1-S, E CACHE.

Collection: National Park Service, El Morro.
