Cultural Period: Ancestral Puebloan (Wupatki Pueblo, A.D. 1130 – A.D. 1260) Description: Woven yucca matting from Wupatki Pueblo. The fragment is woven with a simple over-and-under pattern, and was likely part of a sleeping mat. Note: The sheen on the matting fragment derives from a preservative treatment applied to protect the piece from insects and rot.
