El Morro National Monument is home to the famous Inscription Rock, on which prehistoric people, Spanish explorers, and Anglo settlers carved their marks over hundreds of years. At the base of the monolith lies a reliable waterhole, and atop the mesa sits Atsinna Pueblo, a 13th century Ancestral Puebloan village.
The American Southwest Virtual Museum hosts photographs of Native American artifacts and rock art and historic artifacts and inscriptions from El Morro National Monument, as well as professionally drafted architectural maps and additional photographs specific to Atsinna Pueblo.
